Clearly . . .

I have a kid who just needs to be different. We can't just sit and watch tv. How boring.

Sometimes I think he knows how much he stresses me out and enjoys seeing how he can freak me out. I had gone off to do something and came back to this. I have no idea how he even got into this position, but I laughed and he laughed till he fell down.

50 Nifty!

At Grandma's house, she has 7 or 8 magnets shaped like different states. Luke loved to play with them and learn their names, Tess-as and Foor-dah! Oh and Wee-zee-yanna!

Getting down with the Bollywood!

Grandma Linda works frequently (understatement!) with many people from India and has even had the opportunity to visit. She was given this beautiful traditional ensemble and of course, it fit Luke perfectly. And of course, he had to "perform" - getting on his stage (slightly elevated fireplace hearth) and dance around.

And then we took cutie pictures with Grandma. (and his cars. of course.)

Train Table Time

We cleared off Luke's train table a while ago as he really was using it for his cars. More recently, he has been super into puzzles. The Puzzle Man! But Mr. Strong was able to open up the drawer, climb inside and start stacking his train tracks.

No no . . . don't push the drawer back in to be able to stand. Too much time. Must get to playing. The trains will come back soon enough, as he's getting older. But I love that he loves his jammies ("JAMMIE TIME!") and like Momma, he'd rather hang out in his jammies all day.

Sooooo CUTE!

We've been in a "cute" place lately, which is getting Mommy her cuddle time. He likes to squish faces and say that we're "cute." Then we have to "show Daddy." Then we rush (while squishing faces) to Daddy to say "we're cute!"

I love being "cute" with that kid. Clearly, he likes to be cute with Sally.

Sony is my favorite!

While in San Diego over spring break (yup - I'm still working on getting these pictures posted!) we had to visit Grandma at work at Sony. This was our first visit to Grandma's new building at Sony and it was beautiful! I would kill for that cafeteria. And then the outside eating area? The view? Jealous!

Luke likes to dine "al fresco."

Aren't they cute!

One of the most entertaining moments was when Luke wanted to play with his visitor name tag (which he had to wear) and so I stuck it on his back between his shoulder blades. He forgot about it and just ran around. Another family was visiting and had a little boy, Luke's age. They were both running around on the patio/deck area and we saw that the other 2 year old had a visitor tag on as well . . . right on his back. Between his shoulder blades.

I have to say, I had a moment with that other mom - we made eye-contact and laughed. I don't get those moments often, being a working mom, having other mom friends with sweet, quiet girls. I will never see that moment again, but we had a moment where we understood what had to be done with crazy boys.

Mickey House Hat.

Yup. It still fits.

Halfway into jammies is usually the best time to try on previously purchased vacation souvenirs.

Also a goo time to check out our "MOOOSSELLLSS!" (Luke translation: muscles)

Mother's Day

Trying to catch up . . . I'll hit Mother's Day first, then figure the rest out.

Mother's Day has always been a wonderful day, a time for reflecting on how grateful I am to all the wonderful women in my life who are making me a better mother every day. I'm getting there, but there's still so much to learn. Thank you all (past and present) who are amazing examples of being a mother.

We went to Hayes Mansion for Mother's Day brunch, which was a much better experience than last year, now that Luke is older. We didn't feed him a whole lot in the morning to make sure that he would eat instead of get in trouble. Poor kid - the first bite and he gives the happiest little sigh.

Brunch was delicious, but I'm always a fan of breakfast. Breakfast that include mimosas. And dessert. Luke loves dessert, too. After we had finished, I asked Luke to thank Papa for his breakfast. Luke said, "Thank you Papa for breakfast." Then he looked at me and said, "Thank you Mamma for cake."

I know what is important to my kid. It's important to me, too.

The Rosbrugh clan - led by my mom. :)

The moms are ready to eat!!

Crud. I love this picture, but its all blurry. But we're all there, its Mother's Day and we're smiling and looking at the camera. It's a Mother's Day Miracle! But not completely. It's blurry.

Just like last Mother's Day, the kids just wanted to run. A big open field? How could you not run?!?
We took Luke back home where he crashed out and had a fantastic nap. I do love a good quality nap. Later that afternoon, we headed over to Uncle Dan and Auntie Ellen.

And they. Have. A. Sandbox.

It's true. It's Luke's mecca. Cars and dirt? It's like, the best Mother's Day ever.

Luke has always loved strawberries so chocolate covered strawberries for Mother's Day was an over-the-top total wound up finish to a crazy day.

Poor crazy kid. He crashed right on out when we got home. It was such a fabulous day. I love my little pie who blessed me with Motherhood.
