Easter Basket Earthquake

After finding the Easter Bunny's first Easter basket for Luke (he's so spoiled . . .) the big ol' earthquake hit. It's epicenter was down in the Baja CA/No. Mexico area, but it was certainly felt in So Cal. Luke didn't notice and could have cared less, but at least we all have the memory of his first earthquake.

First Post-Earthquake Picture:

The earthquake was quickly forgotten once the alphabet puzzle came out. Oh, Luke is the Puzzle King. He loves his alphabet puzzle and sings his ABCs along with putting it together.

After that, Mommy helped him find his SECOND (that's right, I mean seriously spoiled) Easter Basket. The Cars were obviously the winner in this basket.

Overall, a highly successful Easter, if not a little nerve wracking due to forces of nature. Happily, Luke was entirely too focused on being spoiled to be as worried as Mommy and Daddy.

The HUNT!

The Easter Bunny sure spoiled Luke this year - I had his very own Lightning McQueen Easter basket as well as hunting for Cars eggs. Once we told him what he was looking for, he was off!

He did such a good job of putting the eggs in the basket and continuing. Last year all he did was find one, break it apart and scream if we tried to get him to put it down. Much more successful this year.

The last egg he found was the special Easter egg - it had a car inside!!

The hunt was much more successful than the unfortunate dying experience!

Easter Ensemble

With the craziness of March (grades, conferences, science fair, etc), I never did get around to getting an Easter outfit for Luke before traveling to San Diego. Once we arrived, Grandma and I were able to find a great sweater vest for Luke for Easter. Heaven knows we can't have an Easter without a sweater vest! And they matched his new Auntie G adidas perfectly!

After getting dressed, he was able to help Grandma feed Pokey. He really wanted to stand back and watch for a bit, but did eventually felt comfortable enough to pet her.

Of course, Frankie D had to come check out what was going on!

And cutie pie Luke looked handsome running around in his new duds!

Second Breakfast

Luke had to have first and second breakfast, since we were having Easter brunch. At second breakfast, he ate bananas sliced, with a fork. (I'm just glad he didn't request ketchup.) We enjoyed a delicious egg scramble (Bickel Breakfast Tradition) as well as mimosas - yummy!

My dear MIL was concerned about not going all out on decorations (who has the time?!?!?) but yet, still found a way to be creative with what she had - and they were beautiful!

Benefits of Grandma

Life is wonderful when we visit Grandma.

We get to go outside and play with our cars before we get out of our jammies!

(Mommy is the meanest - making me wear a sweatshirt.)

I even got to eat first breakfast outside!

I love love love Grandma!

Egg Dying

or . . .
Death by Dying

It all seemed like a good idea . . .

We hadn't dyed eggs in the past few years just because we were . . . well, really really exhausted. He wasn't sleeping his first Easter, and then the second Easter he couldn't sit still long enough to do much of anything, but this Easter we thought we'd take a chance.

But . . .

we waited too long. He was pooped from the day and didn't even want to have anything to do with it. So lesson learned: egg dying in the afternoon. Immediately following nap, with snacks provided.

Eventually, he'll have fun.

Right?
