Baby blues and baby teeth . . .

... happiness in a nutshell.

Happy Guy!

He's almost ready for rollercoasters . . .

Playdate with Kacie!

We went up to San Francisco to visit GrandMary, Neil, Melinda and little Kacie while Grandma Linda was in town. The kids had so much fun together, as did the rest of us! Kacie was very curious as to what Luke was all about.

The Grandmas had a wonderful time taking the two little bears out for a walk in Golden Gate Park, while we were all given the gift of "adult interaction."

Neil set up a variety of college mascots for Luke, letting him pick which mascot he liked the most, therefore determining which college Luke would go to. As much as I wanted him to go for the lion (Go LMU!) and Todd wanted him to go for the little Irish doll (Go Notre Dame!), he went for the . . . tree. I guess Go Stanford! At least it's close by!

We had so much fun visiting and letting the kids play together!

Such a pouty face . . .

Luke sure likes to laugh when Mommy laughs, but when she stops - the quivering chin begins. Of course, we whip the camera out as fast as we can. It's hard to catch the pouty face - as soon as the camera is out, the smiles begin. At least we caught one pouty face!

New Discoveries

I didn't know this was here . . . it's squishy and sticking out . . .

Luke discovered his belly last week and was impressed. Now Luke's first tooth has just started to break through.

Luke just had his 6 month check up and is doing so well! He was patient and still while the doctor examined him, which the doctor was very impressed with. He also growled at the doctor, which everyone found quite entertaining. So at 6 months, Luke is 18 lbs. 6 oz. and is 27 inches long.

We're enjoying learning how to play hide and go seek.

Crawling? Already??

Okay. So not techincally crawling, but scootching around like its going out of style. Sometimes we're doing a little army crawl, sometimes we're inch-worming it, but he gets where he needs to go. If mommy and daddy wouldn't keep putting things just out of reach.

I don't know why I'm encouraging this behavior. This place is really not baby-proofed. Except for a gate. I'm proud of the gate.

San Diego was a blast - I will soon be posting some fun pictures that were taken with the new fancy-schmancy camera. Wowza what a camera!

Sitting up!

Luke is doing so well at sitting up by himself! We still have a tumble or two if he gets tired, but I love the "plop and go!" I can sit him up, run and grab something and he's fine when I get back. Hurray! It won't be long before he starts crawling - he's already on all fours rocking back and forth. Any minute he's just going to launch himself forward. Oh, how quickly the baby gate went up!

Its been so hot lately, we've just been dousing him with water. These are the moments (few and far between) when we wish for the a/c of the old apartment . . . then we look around and are glad we are really "home."

Sure Luke looks like Mother Teresa, but it was a great way to cool him down!

And of course, he loves to go into the pool with Daddy. Well, Luke goes in the pool, Daddy sits on the lounge next to the pool. Luke actually started enjoying water being dumped on his head.

He's gotten so big - he's quite adept now at letting me know when he's ready for a nap. Poor kid - Mommy just wants to play all the time!
